A cooperative (also co-operative; often referred to as a co-op) is a business organization owned and operated by a group of individuals for their mutual benefit. Cooperatives are defined by the International Co-operative Alliance's Statement on the Co-operative Identity as autonomous associations of persons united voluntarily to meet their common economic, social, and cultural needs and aspirations through jointly owned and democratically controlled enterprises. Here we are pulling plugs from our computers, electrical appliances, because the time is still running even if you aren't using them, so on and so forth. We're all trying the save energy and I'm not saying that's a bad thing. We do our part to save energy and what happens? It comes back at you and kicks you in the as, because now the utility companies need more money to operate. Turn off you lights, buy expensive light bulbs and do our part to save energy and look what we have to show for it...increase in electric bills. No one is turning any lights off in Vagas and they have already been warned that the dam providing the electricity is running low.
