You can't have a CITY plonked in the middle of another city. Both cities are in the County of Greater Manchester, but they are governed entirely separately - for example, Salford Council blocks free speech by charging thousands of pounds to kids who want to save their school (this actually happened) and by blocking even vegetarian message boards on their computers. It also blocks Facebook and online versions of MSN, potentially making it very difficult for children with serious problems to get any advice (they may not feel comfortable calling a helpline, and the school computers are probably set up the same way as the library computers as they are probably also run by Salford Council). Manchester,… [cont.] Asked by PJ - Tue Oct 6 12:12:39 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. Maybe they're ignorant. It's obvious Salford is not in Manchester - as you said, you can't have a city in another city, and each city has it's own procedures for homelessness etc. Maybe it's cus people are confusing Greater Manchester with Manchester - but why don't those who live in Salford or in Manchester seem to know any better? You can always email admissions officers at those schools to ask what is required of entrants who are home schooled. There may be specific tests or qualifications. It's never to early to inquire. Just let them know that you're very interested in attending their institution as a Pre-med student and I'm sure they'd be happy to steer you in the right direction. Answered by EmilyS - Fri Jun 26 17:18:40 2009 A site that reads .lit ebooks or converts them to txt format?
Q. So, I work in a call centre and read a lot of books. I don't like pulling out a paperback every time I have a free moment or when I'm put on hold. It wouldn't look that good in the office. I normally read ebooks, like from the baen free library because they come in html formats. I downloaded a series of ebooks, but they came in .lit format, and I wasn't aware of that. Our computers at work are locked so I can't install the MS Reader application. So, does anyone know of a site online that I can upload the .lit file to read? Or a reader program that doesn't require it to be "installed"? Also I have a sidekick, so I use the web browser to read the html version of the ebooks. I can upload txt files into html, so does anyone know of a… [cont.] Asked by NeXusVT100 - Sun Jan 6 20:17:56 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A.
